Sarah Phimister:

A little about me, Sarah, age 36. I am a registered ICU nurse who loves being with her husband and 4 legged German Shorthaired daughter, Ocilla, on a small hobby farm in southwest Washington. I am obsessed with trashy television, mainly “The Bachelor” and taking long walks while listening to Joyce Meyer. If I could live anywhere, it would be Hawaii. If I had only one food left in this world to eat, it would have to be macadamia nuts. I feel like I am always working on my weight, but I still love the body I have at this moment. My secret passion is horses and wine. My one day dream is to have a tasting room at my house with beautiful Friesian horses dancing around the field while my guests sip wine. I am a devoted Christian and my faith is what drives me to be a better human being every day. I know not everyone believes the way I do, but we all battle the same emotions and feelings. So no matter what your belief system is, I want everyone to be free to live a beautiful life free from guilt, fear, depression, low self-esteem, and shame. Let’s get busy freeing our minds so we truly can enjoy the wind in the trees and whip cream in our lattes!

Tawny Nelson:

And here’s a little about me, Tawny Nelson, age 38. I’m an at-home farm wife with my handsome husband (Sarah’s brother) on an 80-acre hay farm and mom to a mess-making toddler for a living; formerly an editor for a large online publication for pay. My passions are living this adventure of life well and as whole as can be—spiritually, mentally, and emotionally—on this side of Heaven, farming and country living, COFFEE (can I get an Amen?), and photographing country life. Reading a good book and photography are my guilty, can’t-get-the-dishes-done pleasures. I secretly or not so secretly hope to become skilled enough to have a few pictures printed in a magazine, although admittedly it is more of a nuisance than a pleasure at times for my subjects who aren’t always as willing as I am (such as my son, our black and chocolate labs Bella and Willow, and our 10 chickens). Moving six times to five states before the age of 11 years old taught me a lot about letting go and starting again. It gave me much of my love of people, travel, nature, and country living. Most importantly, it taught me about the one constant in my life—which is the reason where I am today, through all the ups and downs, tearing away, rejections, and hardships—God’s love. And it is the reason I have gained much freedom in the midst of life’s trying emotions. I’m learning to find exquisite beauty every day…in the moment, in the mundane, in the trials…and to live life more intentionally, with joy. I hope to bring you along with me on the journey, so we can process our hardships and hang-ups together over a cup of tea or coffee, and know that neither one of us is alone—no matter where you are in life or what you believe. So come on, let’s get started!
